Who is responsible for your information
Focused Care Psychology, trading as Focused Care Psychology, is the controller of personal information submitted to the practice. The company is established in the Republic of Ireland and offers private services to people in the United Kingdom. Privacy and rights requests can be sent to focusedcarepsychology@gmail.com.
UK data protection
Where the UK GDPR applies to the processing of information about people in the UK, the practice must meet the relevant UK data protection requirements alongside the data protection obligations that apply to the company in Ireland.
UK representative
The practice is established outside the UK. ICO guidance may require an organisation in this position to appoint a UK representative when it regularly offers services to people in the UK. If a UK representative is required for the service as operated, their contact details must be published here before routine UK clinical data processing begins.
Information collected
Initial enquiries may include your name, email address, telephone number if you choose to provide one, UK region, service of interest and the message you send. If you proceed to assessment or therapy, the practice may process health information, developmental history, reports, questionnaires, correspondence and other information needed for the agreed clinical service.
Why information is used

- To create clinical records and reports where a service proceeds.
- To meet safeguarding, professional, legal, accounting and security obligations.

Special category health information
Health and clinical information receives additional protection under data protection law. The lawful basis and special category condition used can depend on the service and circumstances. The relevant clinical service documentation should explain the basis for processing before substantive clinical work begins.
Sharing
Information is not sold. It may be shared with service providers used for secure hosting, email, scheduling, payment or practice administration, and with professional or legal advisers where necessary. Clinical information is shared with GPs, NHS services, schools, employers or other third parties only where there is an appropriate lawful basis, normally with your knowledge or consent unless another legal or safeguarding basis applies.
International processing
Because the controller is established in Ireland, information connected with a UK service may be processed in Ireland or elsewhere by approved service providers. Ireland is within the European Economic Area and is currently covered by UK adequacy arrangements. Other international transfers must be covered by a lawful transfer mechanism where UK transfer rules apply.
Retention
Initial enquiry information is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the enquiry and relevant business or legal records. If you become a client, clinical record retention is governed by the service documentation and applicable professional and legal requirements.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your information, object to certain processing, or receive certain information in a portable form. Where processing relies on consent, consent can be withdrawn without affecting earlier lawful processing.

You can contact the practice first. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. Current information is available at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and analytics
The UK website does not currently load Google Analytics because a UK measurement ID has not been configured. If optional analytics is activated later, it will be consent controlled and this notice will be updated before activation.
Security
The website and service providers should use proportionate technical and organisational safeguards. No internet or email system can be guaranteed completely secure, so detailed clinical records should not be sent through the initial enquiry form unless the practice has asked you to use a specified secure route.
Changes
This notice will be updated when the service, providers, representative arrangements or legal requirements materially change.
